Back in 2007, I’d been playing the guitar for about five years. I’d taken lessons with my first teacher and progressed from beginner to intermediate quickly just by learning my favourite songs. My first teacher introduced me to players like Hendrix, Clapton and Gilmour, and I started playing solos, but then I hit a massive wall.
I desperately wanted to sound like my newfound heroes — Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai — but I had no idea what they were actually doing. I couldn’t make sense of the fretboard, and every time I tried to solo like them, it felt like guesswork. I was stuck in the same position, playing the same shapes, without really understanding how it all fit together. This lead me to the point of quitting for a whole year, aged 17.
I missed playing so much that I decided to pick it back up again, and that’s when I started taking lessons with my second teacher — and everything changed.
I learned the CAGED system, three-notes-per-string, how to build chords and arpeggios, and the techniques required to actually execute those ideas on the guitar. I started to connect the dots, and eventually earned a place at the Guitar Institute in London, where I immersed myself in scales, arpeggios, triads, theory concepts, and everything I could get my hands on.
But here’s the thing...
After graduating, I realised I was still struggling.
I had all this information… but I was in another serious rut. Sound familiar?
Worse still, I started teaching students in my local area — showing them the same overwhelming pile of scales and techniques I’d learned — and guess what? They weren’t making real progress either.
That’s when I had a huge realisation: information isn’t transformation.
That single realisation changed everything — for me and for every student I've worked with since.
I knew things had to change.
I needed to unpack the scales, get to grips with the theory, and most importantly, apply everything in a way that made real music — not just more practice routines.
So I got seriously organised.
I created the Scale Pyramid Methodology to make sense of the overwhelming scale systems and learned how to actually play through chord changes in a musical way. I built real fretboard fluency, refined my technique, and developed the vocabulary that would eventually define my own style.
As I started seeing results, I began documenting everything — building step-by-step PDFs, Guitar Pro files, and MP3s — so I could pass on these breakthroughs to my students.
And it worked.
They started getting results faster than ever, without the years of trial and error I’d gone through.
What you’ll find inside the Complete Mastery System is everything I wish I’d had during those frustrating years — a clear, structured, and musical approach to building real skill on the guitar.
No fluff. No filler. Just the complete system I wish someone had handed me at 17 — so you don't have to spend years figuring it out the hard way.
Most guitar education gives you pieces without a picture. A technique here. A scale there. A lick to copy. None of it joins up.
The Complete Mastery System is built around three things that work together — because they have to.
Fretboard Knowledge — so you always know where you are, what you're playing and why it works. No more guesswork. No more playing blind.
Technique — built specifically to serve your musical ideas. Clean, fast and expressive in any style, over any harmony.
Musical Vocabulary — a library of licks, lines and runs you can deploy at will, across the entire neck, in any musical context.
Fix all three together and something clicks that never clicked before. That's not a marketing claim. It's what my students tell me consistently — and it's what the Scale Pyramid Methodology was specifically built to deliver.

This is the kind of guidance that normally only exists inside 1:1 lessons.
Most guitarists spend thousands on gear over the years. New guitars, new amps, new effects. And their playing stays exactly the same.
Because the problem was never the gear.
It was never the instrument either.
It was always the same three things — fretboard knowledge, technique, and musical vocabulary. The things that actually determine whether you can solo freely or whether you stay stuck in the same box shape for another year.
Gear is a shortcut that leads nowhere. Education compounds. Every hour you invest in the right system builds on the last — and unlike a new pedal, it never loses its value.
Most guitarists stay stuck because they're missing three things — fretboard knowledge, technique and musical vocabulary. Fix all three together and everything changes.
The Complete Mastery System is the only structured roadmap that addresses all three simultaneously — 18 courses, 831 lessons, built around the exact framework that's transformed the playing of hundreds of guitarists.
Combined value £536. Your Member Price — exclusively for Free Soloing System members — is £247 or four payments of £67. This price exists on this page only.

You can play. Now it's time to solo
I've received a ton of questions about Cutting Edge Guitar Programs and want to put together this FAQ to help give you the information you need.
If you want to transform your playing and skyrocket your progress to play the music you've always wanted... then these are the products you need.
Most of my students see rapid results, with huge progress coming within a few months of working through the material.
Yes, there is one reason why you wouldn't see results, and it's quite simply this: If you don't implement the strategies the courses show you and follow the diligent practice methods the courses advise, then you won't see results. If you put in the work, you are guaranteed to see results from these products.
I've designed the individual courses to be manageable and to destroy the three key issues guitar players face, which are:
They don't know their fretboard well enough
They can't technically execute their ideas
They can't musically implement devices such as scales, arpeggios, triads and intervals.
With an online course, you can take things at your own pace and work through them in a time frame that suits you. There's no pressure or hassle with this learning method, and you'll always know what you need to work on by moving through the materials methodically.
Guitar players from any contemporary background can use the concepts outlined. I come from a rock background and have been influenced by blues, jazz and neo-classical. The licks, lines, and runs in my products are, therefore, leaning in a modern rock and fusion direction, but you'll find value here no matter what contemporary background you come from.
Not in the traditional classroom sense (for example, “hear this interval and name it”). Instead, you'll train your ear in a way that directly supports real playing.
Rather than isolating sounds on paper, you’ll learn to hear what you see on the fretboard. As you build deep fretboard fluency, learn scales and intervals in context, play arpeggios over backing tracks, and study licks and lines, your ear naturally becomes sharper and more developed. This is the same practical, musician-first approach that I used, alongside transcribing.
So the short answer is: No, there isn’t a dedicated ear-training module.
The long answer is: Yes, your ear will improve significantly as a natural result of the fretboard knowledge, technique development, and musical vocabulary you’ll be using throughout the program.
This approach trains your ear the way I did it in the real world: Through actually making music.
